Alan was born and raised in Anhui, China. Base LA/Shanghai.

He graduated form the cinematography program at Chapman University, His mentor is Johnny E Jesen, ASC.​

His work was offcial selected by LA Shorts、Rome Prism Film Awards、New York Shorts International Film Festival、New York Indie Shorts Awards、 New York Lift-off Film Festival、 Venezia Shorts Italy.
